This improved slide lock is extended and the ends are angled for a much easier take down of the pistol.  The groove in the slide lock is for the barrel to lock up on while in the full battery position.  The groove is cut to a much tighter specification than the stock part, making for a tighter and more consistant lock up of the barrel.  This improves accuracy.
