Glock 43 and the Glock 43X

These are two very popular slim line models from Glock. The 43X has a longer grip length and a higher ammo capacity. Both models maximize comfort, concealment, and dependability for almost all users.

Interchangeable Parts

Some of the parts on the Model 43X are interchangeable with the Model 43. (See the Chart below) Glock 43 Parts, Glock 43X Parts

Dimensions

Looking at the two pistols side by side, they appear to have comparable dimensions, except that the G43X is slightly wider (G43 1.06″ vs. G43X 1.10″ Wide) and taller (G43 4.25″ vs. G43X 5.04″ Tall) with magazines in place.

The Glock 43X is 11.6% heavier (G43 20.64 oz/1.29 lbs vs. G43X 23.07 oz/1.44 lbs) than the G43 when loaded with the same ammo.

The overall width of the G43X is slightly wider than the G43 (G43 1.06″ vs. G43X 1.10″).

Barrels

Both guns feature the 3.41″ Glock Marksman Barrel.  This barrel is very accurate and ranges less than 25 yards.

Sights

The Glock 43 comes with the standard polymer ‘goal post’ rear sight and ‘white dot’ front sight. You can also get standard steel or Glock night sights for the G43. The Glock 43X comes with the standard polymer plus three additional configurations of sight options including standard steel, Glock night sights, and Ameriglo.

Triggers

The average trigger pull weight is 5.5 lbs.  Many owners report the pull weight much higher.  The triggers can be muchly improved with Glock Trigger Kits.

Ammunition Capacity

The 10 round magazine capacity is a huge reason to own the 43X.  The 43 magazine holds 6 rounds.  The extra 4 rounds could come in handy if a person had to use his/her pistol in a life- threatening situation.

Opinion

The authors opinion is the 43X is the better choice for concealed holster carry. The larger hand-grip area and the added ammo capacity are big advantages.

The 43 makes a better pocket carry because of the reduced size.
